INCIDENT: PC 69 – Resist or Threaten a Peace Officer, PC 236 – False Imprisonment, and PC 71(a) – Threatening Public Officials
LOCATION: 19200 block of Elm Street, Apple Valley, CA
VICTIM(S): 61-year-old female of Apple Valley, CA
SUSPECT(S): Theodore Alexander James, 61-year-old male of Apple Valley, CA
SUMMARY: Deputies from Apple Valley Police Department were called to a welfare check at a residence in the 19200 block of Elm Street on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Neighbors reported hearing a woman yelling inside a residence and were concerned for her safety.
Deputy G. Gregory and Deputy S. Rex arrived on scene at approximately 2:56 p.m., and contacted the resident, Theodore James. James refused to cooperate, remaining behind a locked screen door, and threatened to assault the officers. James left the door, and a woman unlocked the screen and exited the residence. Deputies were then able to contact James and place him under arrest.
The victim was found not to be injured. Theodore James was arrested for PC 69 – Resisting or Threatening a Peace Officer and was transported to High Desert Detention Center. California State Parole authorized a parole hold for James and he is currently being held without bail.
On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Victorville District Attorney’s Office filed felony charges of PC 69, PC 236, and PC 71(a).
