The emerald ash borer has arrived in Ely. The City has partnered with Cy’s Tree Service out of Anamosa to remove ash trees on city property this spring. There are an additional 70+ ash trees around town, especially prevalent in the Southbrook neighborhood. Cy will be contacting residents with an ash tree over the next several weeks; they will have an opportunity to join the project at a competitive rate. If you live in city limits and have another tree you need removed and would also like to be included in this city-wide project, please reach out to Cy by March 15.
