Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Suspected Methamphetamine and a Firearm

INCIDENT: HS 11370.1(A): POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE WHILE ARMED
LOCATION: Sheep Creek Road/ Phelan Road, Phelan
SUSPECT: Danielle Westhoff, 41 years-old, resident of Wrightwood
SUMMARY: On Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 9:02 a.m., Deputy A. Barajas stopped a 2001 red Chevrolet truck for California Vehicle Code violations.
When Deputy Barajas contacted the driver, Danielle Westhoff, he learned she had a suspended and revoked driver's license. During a search of the vehicle, a firearm was located and suspected methamphetamine was located inside her purse.
Danielle Westhoff was arrested for possession of a controlled substance while armed. Children and Family Services were contacted because Westhoff had her 10-year-old son in the car with her. Her son was turned over into the custody of a family member.
Danielle is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $40,000.00 bail.
