DATE/TIME: February 14, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Home Invasion, Assault With a Firearm

LOCATION: 19000 block of Oakland Avenue, Rialto

SUSPECT(S): Andrew Sexton, 34 years of age, resident of San Bernardino

VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff's Station responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls at a residence on the 19000 block of Oakland Avenue in the county area of Rialto, regarding a shooting.

Deputies learned a male subject, later identified as Andrew Sexton, kicked in the front door armed with a pistol looking for his estranged girlfriend and their infant, who were not home. Sexton searched the residence, continued to threaten family members, and fired several rounds inside the home. Deputies arrived within minutes, searched the residence and area looking for Sexton, but he was not located.

Detectives from the Fontana Station authored an arrest warrant for Sexton and began conducting surveillance at various locations of interest in the cities of Loma Linda and San Bernardino.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Sexton was seen entering an apartment located on the 2900 block of Loma Avenue in the city of San Bernardino. Due to Sexton's violent history and use of firearms, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) assisted with surveillance.

Detective Pedersen authored a search warrant for Sexton's apartment and it was served by SED without incident. Sexton was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center for the above charges. All victims involved in this investigation are safe, including the infant.
