Chevron CWS Level 1 Notification - Flaring - 2/23/2024 
At 2:34pm today, 2/23/2024, Chevron issued a CWS Level 1 Notification due to flaring at the Richmond refinery. Richmond Fire Dept. has confirmed with Chevron that flaring is no longer occurring at the site, however intermittent flaring may occur as the system upset is resolved.
Based on Contra Costa Health's 3-tier hazmat severity system, CWS Level 1 notifications have no public health impacts and require no action from the community.
