Lynwood, Calif. – On February 23, 2024, one (1) was arrested for DUI, two (2) were arrested for being in possession of narcotics, one (1) was cited for driving with a suspended/revoked license and six (6) were cited for driving without a license at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Imperial Highway and Jackson Street from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. where 509 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
