ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Stacey A. Mickle was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of the Honorable Judge Lisa W. Loran and was remanded to the custody of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE: On February 25th, 2024 at approximately 10:15 A.M. Amsterdam Police were dispatched to St. Mary’s Hospital for the report of a female who came into the hospital with a stab wound. Members of the patrol division interviewed the female victim who had suffered a laceration to her arm. The initial investigation reveals that the suspect, now identified as 48 year-old Stacey A. Mickle, of Amsterdam stabbed another woman during an argument while inside the residence at 10 Trinity Place in the City of Amsterdam. It is alleged during the altercation the suspect used a pair of scissors against the complainant causing physical injury. Stacey A. Mickle was located by members of the Amsterdam Police Patrol Division at 10 Trinity Place and arrested on the above charges.
The City of Amsterdam Police Department was assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation as well as the office of the Montgomery County District Attorney Lorraine Diamond in this investigation, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
