Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On February 22, at 8:12 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the area of East 12th Street and Northeast Boulevard, when they observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at that location and made contact with the driver – 21-year-old Lennell Preston, who was found to be wanted on an unrelated matter and taken into custody without incident. Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun.
Preston has been charged with the following offense in addition to traffic violations:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released after posting $5,000 secured bail.
