Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary incident.
On February 16, at approximately 8:18 p.m., police responded to the unit block of West 11th Street, in reference to a burglary incident. The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Merced identified 68-year-old Gaddies McDaniel as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On February 23, at approximately 8:41 a.m., members of the Special Operations Division were in the 900 block of North Orange Street, when they observed McDaniel. Officers made contact with McDaniel and took him into custody without incident.
McDaniel has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (Third Degree)
- Theft Over $1,500
- Breach of Release
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
