Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Shooting Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the suspect pictured below in connection with a shooting on February 21, 2024.
Police responded to a Shot Spotter detection at approximately 8:22 p.m. in the 300 block of S. 10th Street. When they arrived, officers canvassed the area and located two shell casings. The suspect pictured below has been linked to the shooting in which no one was hit and no property was damaged. He’s described as a Black male, who was wearing a blue bubble jacket, light blue ripped jeans, and blue/white sneakers. After the shooting, he fled eastbound on South Orange Avenue.
