Dog Attacks Children Walking to School in the Mesa Linda Area

INCIDENT: Child Bit by Dog
LOCATION: 13800 Block of Mesa Linda Avenue, Victorville
SUMMARY: On Thursday, February 29, 2024, at approximately 7:02 a.m. deputies from the Victorville Police station were dispatched to a call for service reference a child that was bitten by a dog.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that an unknown dog bit two children as they were walking to school. One child was able to run to safety, while a 7-year-old female suffered multiple injuries. A citizen that lives in the area ran outside and helped the child which eventually led to the dog fleeing. The child was transported by American Medical Response to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
