The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of February 18, 2024 – February 24, 2024.        
 
February 18, 2024

• Robbery (Strong Arm):

2171 Huntington Drive (Tacos Ensenada). On February 18, 2024 at 7:51 PM, suspects unknown, three male black adults wearing black hoodies, blue jeans, and faces masks, walked into the business and began to remove the register from the location while a fourth male black adult acted as a lookout. The victim, fearing she would be harmed, allowed them to take the register. The suspects fled the location and entered a black Kia Sorento with a partial plate of 899. The loss was approximately $700.
 

• Petty Theft (Shoplifting):

1470 Mountain Avenue (Best Buy). On February 18, 2024 at 5:19 PM, suspect unknown, a male hispanic adult wearing a red hat with two tear drop tattoos on his face, entered the location and went to the electronics department. The suspect selected a portable “Bose” speaker and exited the location without attempting to purchase the item. The value of the stolen property was approximately $440. Surveillance video is available.

February 22, 2024

• Grand Theft Vehicle:

2000 Block of Capehart Avenue. Between February 19, 2024 7 AM and February 22, 2024 1:38 PM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a white 2013 Kia Optima. No surveillance video is available.
 

• Grand Theft Vehicle:

Newington Street and Broach Avenue. On February 22, 2024 between 12 AM and 12 PM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a white 2006 Chevy Explorer. No surveillance video is available.
 
February 23, 2024

• Grand Theft Vehicle:

2000 Block of Atlin Street. On February 23, 2024 between 3:15 AM and 6:08 AM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a white 2018 Chevy Camaro. No surveillance video is available.
 
February 24, 2024

• An unlocked car is an open invitation to a car thief.
• Lock up when you leave your car, and take the keys with you.
• Lock the trunk or tailgate.
• Close all windows — professional thieves have tools that unlock cars through the smallest openings.  
• When you park the car, remove cellular phones and other valuable possessions. Do not leave anything lying on the seat.
• Lock all valuables in your trunk or take them with you.
• Lock your car even if you are making a quick stop at the gas station, convenience store, or mini-mall.
