Brain Health Workshops begin tomorrow, March 1
Residents are invited to the 2024 Brain Health Lunch and Learn Workshops at Fox Hill Gardens, 311 13th St. Three workshops are scheduled beginning March 1, to discuss issues related to dementia, mental health, and aging. Participants will be connected with services in the community including the Act Now Foundation and the City of Hoboken social workers.
Lunch will be provided at each workshop by the Hoboken Housing Authority, and they will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:
- Friday, March 1 - The 3W's of Alzheimer's
- Thursday, May 23 - Depression & isolation in older adults
- Friday, July 26 - Sleep & Older Adults
This series is funded in part by the Community Development Block Grants of Hoboken and the Hudson County Office on Aging.
Learn more about Harborside Park and Rebuild by Design
The City of Hoboken will host a community meeting on Harborside Park and the Rebuild by Design project on Thursday, March 7, at 6 p.m. at Elysian Charter School, 1460 Garden St. The City will discuss the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's approved amenities and features of the waterfront park which is currently under construction at 1500 Park Ave. as well as elevated flood protection measures that will prevent storm surge flooding caused by major storm events.

Learn more about spotted lanternfly removal
Hoboken community members are invited to learn about spotted lanternfly prevention and removal on Saturday, March 16, at Elysian Park. The Hoboken Green team will teach residents how to identify egg masses and effectively remove them as the invasive species are harmful to local plant life. The session will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donate period products to help those in need
The Office of Constituent Services, in partnership with a local Girl Scout, is holding a period product drive. Residents are encouraged to donate unopened packages of menstrual products, including pads and tampons, at City Hall, 94 Washington St., weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 15. The drive is meant to combat period poverty in the community. Recent research by the Flow Initiative found that one in three Hudson County students struggle to afford menstrual products.

The Hoboken Health Division and Hudson Regional Health Commission (HRHC) are hosting a COVID-19 and flu vaccine pop-up clinic March 21, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St.
