On February 28, 2024, at approximately 4:28 PM, deputies assigned to the Taft Substation were dispatched to the 800 block of San Joaquin Street in Maricopa, California, regarding a subject who had been shot in the leg.
The victim was located in front of the Kern County Fire Department station in Maricopa, where he received medical attention. The victim was later transported by ambulance to a hospital in Bakersfield for further treatment.
In speaking with witnesses, deputies learned that the suspect involved was identified as a white male with long hair in his 30’s. The suspect was approximately 5’11” tall, weighed approximately 190 pounds, and was last seen driving a gray SUV.
