SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT BOLSTERS PUBLIC SAFETY WITH THE ADDITION OF 7 DEPUTIES IN THE 1ST SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Shannon Dicus, and Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Col. Paul Cook (ret.), proudly announce the addition of seven deputies to fortify public safety within the 1st Supervisorial District, which encompasses several of the High Desert Communities.

This initiative comes as a collaborative effort between the Sheriff’s Department and the leadership of the Board of Supervisors. Recognizing the need to enhance law enforcement presence and community engagement, the deployment of these additional deputies signifies a proactive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and small businesses within the 1st Supervisorial District.

Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Col. Paul Cook (ret.), expressed his unwavering commitment to fostering a secure environment for San Bernardino County, stating, “The safety of our communities is always a top priority. These seven additional deputies will be strategically placed across the district, focusing on areas identified as priority zones for crime prevention and proactive policing efforts. Their duties will encompass various responsibilities, including community patrols, response to emergency calls, and proactive crime prevention.

These deputies will start on May 4, 2024, and are funded by the 2023-2024 adopted budget by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.
