Robberies

There were four robberies during the past week.

On Monday, 02-19-24, at approximately 10:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Sullivan Avenue on a report of a vehicle theft. The first victim stated that as he was driving from San Francisco to Daly City with his partner, he noticed a Mercedes-Benz following him until the Eastmoor Avenue offramp, where he lost sight of it. The victim parked his Dodge Durango, exited the vehicle with the keys in the ignition, and walked to the trunk to retrieve something. While at the trunk, the Mercedes-Benz drove up behind him and two suspects exited the vehicle. Both suspects pointed firearms at the victim. The first suspect pointed the gun at the victim’s chest and took the victim’s wallet containing $250 and a credit card. The second suspect entered the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle. The first suspect then entered the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle and both suspects drove off. The victim said his vehicle had a Prada bag, a Louis Vuitton bag, two Michael Kors bags, a bracelet, and a Motorola cell phone, all worth approximately $2,000 inside. There was another suspect in the Mercedes-Benz, and the person also drove away. As this was occurring, the second victim said she was walking and noticed the first victim was taking a while. When she looked back, she saw two suspects pointing a gun at the first victim. The second suspect then pointed the gun at her. The second victim then went into an apartment and had her mother call for help. This investigation is continuing.

The suspects were all seen leaving in a black Nissan Rogue. A loss prevention agent had stated that two suspects entered the store, concealed six pairs of shoes worth approximately $630, and left the store without paying. The loss prevention agent attempted to retrieve the stolen merchandise and was punched and pushed by one of the suspects. Both suspects fled across the parking lot. Shortly after, one of the suspects was located, and three pairs of shoes were recovered. The suspect, a 25-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and other charges. The second suspect was described as a White or Asian female, wearing a beige hat, blue or black shirt, beige pants, and white shoes.

Once the register was opened, the suspect placed a bag on the counter, reached into the cash register, took approximately $200, placed the money into the bag, and left the store. Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
