Red Flag Warning until 07:00PM Sunday

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS AND NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL NM FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM MST SATURDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL NM SUNDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES... .Southwest winds will strengthen Saturday across eastern New Mexico as an upper level storm system approaches from the Great Basin. The combination of strong winds, single digit humidity, and above normal temperatures will increase the risk for critical fire weather conditions. Southwest to west winds will strengthen even further into Sunday. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 10 AM to 7 PM MST Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Plains (Zone 104), Northeast Highlands (Zone 123), Central Highlands (Zone 125), and East Central Plains (Zone 126) from 11 AM to 7 PM MST Saturday and 10 AM to 7 PM MST Sunday.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...For Saturday, southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. For Sunday, southwest to west 35 to 45 mph with gusts near 60 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 12 percent Saturday then 9 to 14 percent Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHEAST PLAINS ... NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS ... CENTRAL HIGHLANDS ... EAST CENTRAL PLAINS
