Hazard: Dangerous winter driving conditions exist across all County-maintained roads. Plows are having difficulty maintaining adequate winter driving conditions. Plows cannot get up Alta Ski Hill Rd and larger equipment is being brought in causing the road closure there.
Location and Consequences: All County-maintained roads. This includes roads such as South Park Loop Rd, Alta Ski Hill Rd, Spring Gulch Rd, Elk Refuge Rd, Fall Creek Rd, and Fish Creek Rd, and others. See link below for list. Choosing to travel during hazardous conditions you may be interfering with maintenance personnel and their efforts to improve highway safety.
Protective Action: Avoid driving on County-maintained roads unless absolutely necessary. Only the most urgent of situations should warrant travel on county roads. Drivers who attempt such travel should be familiar with local conditions and be very experienced with winter driving. Do not attempt to drive on Alta Ski Hill Rd until that road reopens.
