INDIANAPOLIS-Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) homicide detectives arrested 45-year-old Curtis Page Jr. for his alleged involvement in a murder that occurred Sunday night.
On Sunday, March 3, 2024, just before 7:00 p.m., IMPD East District officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of E. 21st Street on a vehicle accident report. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, later identified as 39-year-old Corey Reed, inside a vehicle with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). While on the scene, officers quickly detained a person of interest, later identified as Page. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived, and Mr. Reed was unfortunately pronounced deceased at the scene.
IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence.
IMPD homicide detectives continued to investigate and, based on various evidence, including cooperative community members, were able to identify the suspect. IMPD homicide detectives arrested Curtis Page Jr. for the murder of Mr. Reed.
The Marion County Prosecutor's office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office is assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The Marion County Coroner’s Officer (MCCO) will release the decedent's name once a proper next-of-kin notification has been made.
