Newark Police Department Crime Blotter Feb 26 - Mar 3, 2024

The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
 
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2024: 
8:01 AM Officer Frentescu investigated the report of a stolen vehicle on the 36000 block of Hafner Street.
 
1:11 PM Officer Williams recovered a vehicle theft in the area of Cherry Street and Bayonne Drive.
 
2:48 PM Officer Williams investigated a stolen vehicle on the 6200 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue.
 
10:48 PM Officers responded to the area of Zulmida Avenue and Deborah Street. A 50-year old male from Newark was arrested for corporal injury and transported to Santa Rita Jail.
 
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2024: 
7:48 AM Officer Orozco responded to the 36000 block of Deborah Street regarding a disturbance. A 54-year-old unsheltered male from Newark was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail for trespassing and theft.
 
5:38 PM Officer Pacheco was dispatched to a traffic collision at Mayhews Landing Road and Redwood Court. A 62-year-old female from Newark was arrested for driving under influence.
 
10:50 PM Officer McCuin investigated a court order violation at the Newark Police Department. A 45-year-old female from Fremont was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail.
 
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2024: 
7:46 AM Officer S. Torres was dispatched to a vehicle parked on the 6700 block of Clark Avenue, which was later determined to be an unreported vehicle stolen from the 7400 block of Morton Avenue. The incident was documented as a vehicle theft and recovery.
 
11:51 AM Officer S. Torres investigated a vehicle burglary occurring overnight at the 35000 block of Dumbarton Court. The method of entry was via lock picking. Reported loss are tools.
 
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2024: 
8:43 AM Officer Lara investigated a vehicle burglary occurring overnight at the 37600 block of Central Court. The point of entry was from the passenger window. Loss included clothing, personal identification and electronics.
 
4:01 PM Officers were dispatched to the 5600 block of Thornton Avenue regarding a disturbance. A 42-year-old unsheltered male from Newark was arrested for possession of narcotics paraphernalia. He was issued a citation and released on scene.
 
FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2024: 
2:46 AM Officer C. Torres investigated a vehicle theft on the 38000 block of Geranium Street.
 
8:42 AM Officer Lara investigated a vehicle theft on the 35800 block of Ruschin Drive.
 
3:09 PM Officer Quinonez was dispatched to the 37400 block of Cherry Street regarding an assault. A 51-year-old male from Newark was arrested for false imprisonment, battery, resisting and delaying arrest. The person was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 2024: 
1:13 AM Officer Medina observed a disturbance on the 39200 block of Cedar Boulevard. A 46-year-old female from Fremont was arrested for corporal battery and transported to Santa Rita Jail.
 
3:19 AM Officers located a 27-year-old unsheltered male from Newark at the area of I-880 southbound and Thornton Avenue with a warrant for his arrest. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
7:21 AM Officer Williams investigated a vehicle theft on the 36000 block of Bettencourt Street.
 
10:08 PM Officers responded to a vehicle facing the wrong way on the 35100 block of Newark Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a driver asleep behind the wheel. A 35-year-old male from Newark was arrested for driving under influence and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
SUNDAY, MARCH 3, 2024: 
7:07 AM Officer Jackman investigated a vehicle burglary on the 8000 block of Mayhews Landing Road.
 
8:50 AM Officers conducted a probation search on the 8200 block of Gateway Boulevard. Multiple subjects were arrested for narcotics, identity theft, burglary tools, and probation violations. All arrestees were booked into Santa Rita Jail, including:

  • A 30-year-old male from Manteca
  • A 32-year old female from Newark
  • A 47-year-old female from Newark
  • A 33-year-old female from Newark
