Paramount, Calif. – On March 1, 2024 the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department conducted a DUI Checkpoint operation in the City of Paramount. One suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. The suspect had three minors in his vehicle at the time and was additionally charged with child endangerment.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Paramount Boulevard south of Rosecrans Avenue from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
