Deputy Gage Honeycutt with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 31-year-old Amber Marie Wilcox with felonious Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoid and felonious Trafficking a Synthetic Cannabinoid. Wilcox was issued a $25,000 secured bond.
On the night of February 23rd, Deputy Honeycutt was patrolling the area of US 226 S and Rutherford Rd and initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle turned up a 78 THC gummies and a THC pen.
