Wilmington Police have arrested a man on robbery charges following an investigation.
On February 1, at approximately 12:22 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1000 block of West 8th Street, in reference to an armed robbery. The case was assigned to Detective James Rook of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Rook identified 29-year-old Vaughn Brittingham as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On February 28, police located Brittingham in the 1200 block of West Avenue, and took him into custody without incident.
Brittingham has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $140,000 cash-only bail.
