MORE INFORMATION/ WSDOT Announcement:
Reminder: One day of roadwork on SR 305 on Bainbridge Island March 6

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, State Route 305 on Bainbridge Island will see heavy congestion at Adas Will Lane.
WSDOT needs help from travelers:

  • Add extra travel time to help prevent delays especially for those traveling to the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal.
  • Consider postponing discretionary trips.
  • Travel early in the morning or later in the afternoon.
The daytime work is expected to create miles backups in both directions. Washington State Department of Transportation understands the inconvenience this poses to travelers. WSDOT has worked very closely with the contractor to minimize daytime work on SR 305.

The daytime work is part of a new phase of construction at a safety improvement project on SR 305.

While most work will occur during nighttime hours, crews need to work during daytime hours to build a two-lane bypass road. Once the process begins, crews will need to continue work until it is completed.
Construction of bypass will begin 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 and continues through 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. During this time SR 305 will be under one-way alternating traffic.

The road will reopen to two-way traffic 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 6.

SR 305 will see one-way alternating each night beginning at 8 p.m. from Wednesday, March 6 through Thursday, March 7. The road will be restored to two-way traffic at 5 a.m. each following day.
During the week, travelers will see two temporary changes through the work zone. Travelers are encouraged to reduce speeds and stay alert for these temporary changes.

Real-time information is available via the WSDOT app and WSDOT Travel Center Map.

Travelers can also sign up to receive email updates about roadwork on state highways in Kitsap County.
