Flood Watch Until 6:00 AM Thursday

There is a flood watch for Mercer County beginning today, March 8th at 1:00 PM through Thursday, March 9th at 6:00 AM. Please do not drive through flooded roadways or remove police barricades, cones, etc. For up to date road closures, please visit:  https://princetonnj.wthgis.com/

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northern, and southern New Jersey, including the following areas, in central New Jersey, Eastern Monmouth, Mercer and Western Monmouth. In northern New Jersey, Middlesex, Morris and Somerset. In southern New Jersey, Coastal Ocean, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean and Southeastern Burlington.

* WHEN...From 1 PM EST this afternoon through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Another round of heavy rain is expected today into tonight. With wet antecedent conditions and elevated creeks and streams, some flooding is possible with another 1 to 2.5 inches of rain expected. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

*PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
