Search for Recalls by License Plate
1- Visit https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls
2- Select your state.
3- Enter your vehicle’s license plate number.
4- Search to find out if your vehicle is subject to an open safety recall.
Or Search for Recalls by VIN
1- Look for the 17-character VIN on the lower left of your car's windshield, or on the label inside your driver side doorjamb. You might also find your VIN on your vehicle’s registration or your insurance documents.
2- Visit https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your VIN.
3- Search to find out if your vehicle is subject to an open safety recall.
