Single vehicle accident leads to arrest of Hazleton man on DUI charge. 
On March 6, 2024, at 8:44 p.m. Sergeant Loren Barchett was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on County Road 400 North and County Road 350 East. Upon arriving on scene Sgt. Barchett observed a Blue 2019 Ford Transit van in the ditch. Upon approaching the driver 42 year old Christopher Lee of Hazleton Sgt. Barchett detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him. At that point Sgt. Barchett began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation he placed Mr. Lee into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated/Refusal.
Assisting Sgt. Barchett in his investigation was Deputy Michael Owens.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
