Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Shoplifting Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the suspect pictured below, who stole several items from a discount store without paying on February 22, 2024.
Police responded to the shoplifting incident, which occurred at approximately 8:55 a.m. at the Dollar General store, located in the 100 block of Market Street. The suspect, who has stolen from the store in the past, was captured on surveillance video taking a variety of food and drink products worth $100.
The suspect, a Black male with a dark complexion, is approximately 5’8” to 5’9” inches tall. He has a slim build and was wearing a black face mask, grey jacket, beige hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and grey sneakers.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
