INCIDENT: Kia Optima vs Ford Fiesta Major Injury Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Kiowa Road and Rancherias Road, Apple Valley, CA

PARTY 2: 38-year-old Male Resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, March 3, 2024, at approximately 7:12 PM, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to an unknown injury, two vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Kiowa Road and Rancherias Road, in the Town of Apple Valley.
Through investigation, deputies determined a gray Ford Fiesta, driven by 29-year-old female Apple Valley resident, was eastbound on Rancherias Road in the number one lane approaching Kiowa Road. The second vehicle was a white Kia Optima, driven by a 38-year-old male Apple Valley resident, was northbound Kiowa Road in the number one lane approaching Rancherias Road. The driver of the Ford Fiesta failed to stop at the stop sign and a collision occurred. The intersection is a two-way-stop intersection controlled by stop signs on Rancherias Road west and east direction of travel.
The driver of the gray Ford Fiesta was found unconscious inside the vehicle and suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and flown to Antelope Valley Hospital. Both the driver and passenger of the white Kia Optima suffered major injuries and were flown to Loma Linda Medical Center.
