Alert

Area Nighttime Burglaries of Occupied Homes & Vehicle Thefts continue; be vigilant, take precautions

The Cranbury Township Police Department is alerting residents to a significant uptick in nighttime burglaries of occupied residences. On 2/18/2024 a residential burglary occurred in the early morning hours of an occupied residence on McKnight Court. With the homeowners asleep in the house, multiple suspects entered the home through an unlocked window. This is the same M/O that we are seeing occurring nearly every night in surrounding municipalities. Extra patrol attention in being given to our residential areas. The Cranbury Township Police Department Detective Bureau is working with other investigators throughout the area. We are asking residents to remain vigilant and to take proper precautions. Make sure to lock all doors and windows. Lock vehicles. Do not leave key fobs or garage door openers in vehicles. If you observe any suspicious activity, call the police immediately.
