Flood Advisory until 11:15PM Saturday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northern New Jersey, including the following counties, Hunterdon, Morris, Sussex and Warren and Pennsylvania, including the following counties, Bucks, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton.

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 810 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly across portions of the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Allentown, Easton, Newton, Montague, Bethlehem, Hopatcong, Forks, Northampton, Hackettstown, Wilson, Washington and Blairstown. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 9. Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 25. Northeast Extension between mile markers 69 and 70. Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 65 and 76. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
