OC Sheriff's Department Community Update 
Last night (03/09), OCSD - Laguna Niguel Police Services shared information about an incident near Golden Lantern and Chapparosa Park Road involving deputies conducting a welfare check. The welfare check was requested because a man fired a weapon inside of a residence during a family disturbance. Thankfully, no family members were injured. During the welfare check, the man is suspected of firing a weapon in the direction of the deputies. Deputies did not return fire, and no one was shot. The man peacefully surrendered to deputies a short time later.
Understandably, the community is concerned and wants more information. While we are limited in the details we can share due to the ongoing investigation, we want you to know that the man has been booked into Orange County Jail on charges of attempted murder.
