Detective Grant Robinson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 31-year-old Dakota Wayne Mace with felonious Breaking Coin/Currency Machine and Injury to Personal Property. Mace was issued a $10,000 secured bond.
An investigation started on December 28th when deputies responded to the Tate Street Welcome Center in Marion for larceny/vandalism. They spoke with a worker from Pepsi who advised that someone had caused damage while attempting to break into one of the vending machines. Evidence from the investigation led to the arrest of Mace on March 6th.
