On March 11, 2024, the Hollis Select Board voted unanimously to appoint Captain Brendan LaFlamme to the position of Chief of Police, a vacancy created with the retirement of Chief Joseph R. Hoebeke, effective April 16, 2024. Chief Hoebeke, a 23-year veteran of the New Hampshire law enforcement community who has served the Town of Hollis since 2016, informed the Hollis Select Board on February 12, 2024 of his intent to retire.

Captain LaFLamme is a 24-year veteran of New Hampshire law enforcement. He began his career with the Jaffrey Police Department in 2000, where he served in the Patrol Division. In May 2004, Captain LaFlamme came home to Hollis, the Town in which he was raised, joining the ranks of the Hollis Police Department. In his 20 years of service to the Town of Hollis, Captain LaFlamme has served as a Patrol Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. He currently serves as the Operations Bureau Commander, overseeing all Patrol related functions, Records Management, and criminal prosecutions.

Captain LaFlamme is a 1999 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, having earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2019, Captain LaFlamme attended and completed the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, session 277.

The ceremony will be held at the Lawrence Barn, 28 Depot Road, Hollis, and light refreshments will be served.
