Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Carjacking Suspects
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspects in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on Monday, March 11, 2024z
At approximately 1:15 p.m., a woman putting groceries into her trunk in the 400 block of 15th Avenue was approached from behind by an armed male and a second suspect who demanded her vehicle. The victim ran, falling onto the ground and losing consciousness. The two suspects entered the vehicle and stole $300.00 from the victim’s purse inside the vehicle. Workers from the business the victim had visited ran outside to assist her before the two suspects fled on foot, heading northbound on South 7th Street.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying these suspects. Suspect 1 is described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion. He was wearing a black coat and had a black handgun. Suspect 2 is described as a Black male with a short stature who was wearing all-black clothing.
