...POSSIBLE HEAVY SNOW FOR HAINES AND KLONDIKE HIGHWAYS... .A band of heavy precipitation is set to impact the panhandle Wednesday night into Thursday. In the far northern panhandle at elevation, temperatures are expected to remain cold enough to allow for accumulating snow along the highways, while at sea level temperatures will warm with southerly flow.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
* WHERE...City and Borough of Yakutat.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM AKDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...According to reports from spotters, moderate to heavy snow in the Yakutat area have produced upwards of 6 inches of snow today. Snow showers will continue into the overnight producing additional amounts upwards of 4 inches.
