Flood Advisory until 04:00AM Wednesday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and west central Missouri, including the following counties, in central Missouri, Cooper, Howard, Pettis and Saline. In west central Missouri, Johnson MO and Lafayette.

* WHEN...Until 400 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1000 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marshall, Higginsville, Concordia, Sweet Springs, New Franklin, Houstonia, Emma, Nelson, Blackwater, Aullville, Franklin, Arrow Rock and Lamine. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
