Berkeley Police Department holding a traffic enforcement operation today
Today, March 13th, the Berkeley Police Department, with the assistance of Alameda County law enforcement agencies, and the California Highway Patrol will be conducting focused traffic enforcement in the City of Berkeley.
Officers will be focusing on areas with high instances of collisions and traffic violations which lead to collisions, as well as distracted driving and other public safety related traffic violations.
These enforcement actions will be conducted in accordance with the Berkeley Police Department’s Three-Prong approach to traffic safety and focused on primary collision factors, and community concerns submitted by community members.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
