Man Arrested for Multiple Charges

Man arrested at San Mateo High School for multiple charges.

San Mateo, CA – On March 13, 2024, at 9:55 a.m., San Mateo Police Department received a 911 call about an adult male suspect on the San Mateo High School campus.  The suspect, who had no reason to be on campus, was confronted by campus security and asked to leave.  The suspect then started a physical altercation with campus security.

Due to the physical altercation, multiple San Mateo Police Officers responded and quickly arrived on scene.  As officers arrived, they were directed by school staff to where the suspect was located.  Officers gave the suspect commands which were disregarded by the suspect.  As officers attempted to detain the suspect, he physically resisted.  After a brief struggle, officers were able to safely detain the suspect in handcuffs.  As officers started the investigation, the suspect lied to police about his identity.  The suspect was ultimately identified as Oscar Marroquen-Perez.  During a search of Marroquen-Perez’s backpack, officers located a large kitchen knife.  Marroquen-Perez was arrested for multiple charges including trespassing and possession of a weapon on school grounds.  Throughout the incident Marroquen-Perez remained aggressive and combative.  Marroquen-Perez was transported and booked into San Mateo County Jail.
