Deputies Respond to Call in Rancho Cucamonga and Arrest Man on Robbery and Weapons Charges

LOCATION: 12000 Block of Foothill Boulevard, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Tyree Thompson, Age 20, Resident of Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM(S): Chevron
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at approximately 1:31 P.M., Rancho Cucamonga deputies responded to a report of a robbery at Chevron Gas Station in Rancho Cucamonga. The suspect, later identified as Tyree Thompson, entered the store, pointed an assault weapon at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register.
After receiving the money from the clerk, Thompson fled the location on his scooter, still armed with the weapon. Deputies located him in the parking lot by a nearby business. Thompson ran and jumped a fence to a nearby business where deputies took him into custody.
Thompson complained of chest pain and was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital for treatment. Once medically cleared, Thompson was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked on charges of PC 211- Robbery, PC 30605- Possession of an Assault Weapon,
PC 32310- Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine, and PC 245(a)(3)- Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Assault Weapon. Thompson remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center and his bail is set at $120,000.00. He is scheduled to appear in the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court on March 15, 2024.
