Deputy Robert Watson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 34-year-old Brittany Branch with felonious Attempting to Obtain Property by False Pretense, Larceny and Aiding & Abetting Larceny.
Detective Matthew Smith with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team also charged Branch with felonious Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Branch was issued a total secured bond of $10,000.
On March 2nd, Deputy Watson responded to Dollar General in Dysartsville for prior larceny. The store’s security cameras captured Branch stealing items from inside the store.
On March 7th, Detective Smith assisted NC Probation/Parole Officers with a search of Branch’s home. The search turned up methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Branch was arrested without further incident.
