Ontario, CA – Ontario Police arrested two suspects responsible for the murder of an Ontario resident.

On March 12, 2024, shortly after 7:30 PM, Ontario Police responded to the 300 block of West C Street regarding a possible shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located a victim who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, a 43-year-old male adult from Ontario, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ontario Fire Department.

Officers determined the victim and suspects did not appear to know each other, but a verbal argument turned violent when one of the suspects produced a gun and shot the victim. The suspects then fled prior to police arrival.

Officers immediately began a thorough investigation and on March 13, 2024, at 7:15 PM, Michael Castilo (18 years old) and Daniel Castillo (21 years old) were taken into custody without incident, at a residence located within the city. The Castillos were booked at the West Valley Detention Center. Michael Castillo was booked for PC 187(a), Murder in the First Degree. Daniel Castillo was booked for PC 32, Accessory After the Fact.

The victim’s identity will not be released until notification of next of kin from the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office is complete.
