Winter Weather Advisory until 10:00PM Friday

...MORE SNOW FOR THE KLONDIKE HIGHWAY AND HAINES... A warm front is currently draped across the northern Panhandle bringing heavy snow to the upper portions of Klondike Highway and through Haines. While snow levels will rise above 2500 feet later this evening, we are forecasting an additional 2-3 inches for the Chilkat Peninsula and 3-4 inches for White Pass. As precipitation begins to back off later tonight, winds will increase over White Pass, with strong wind gusts to 45 mph overnight.

* WHAT...Wet snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch.

* WHERE...Klondike Highway above 1500 feet, and Haines Highway.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM AKDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will continue to be wet, heavy, and hard to manage.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MUNICIPALITY OF SKAGWAY ... HAINES BOROUGH AND KLUKWAN
