Special Weather Statement until 08:00AM
Lingering low level moisture along a weak frontal boundary and light wind has allowed for fog to develop across parts of the western Piedmont of North Carolina and the northern part of Upstate South Carolina, including the Charlotte metro area. Several locations had a visibility that was variable between one mile and one-quarter mile. The fog will likely persist through daybreak and will be locally dense. If you are driving across this area, be on the lookout for sharply reduced visibility, and slow down when you encounter the fog. The visibility should improve quickly after sunrise.
