Increased fire danger today from noon to late evening. Outdoor burning is not recommended. 
A Fire Danger Statement has been issued for North Carolina counties along the Blue Ridge Escarpment, Foothills, and north-central mountains. In the affected areas, gusty afternoon winds ranging from 20 to 30 mph will coincide with low humidity and dry fuels. Fires will have an easier time starting and spreading.
