Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a shoplifting incident that occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
At approximately 3:18 p.m., a male walked into the Nike Factory Store in the 600 block of Broad Street, went over to the men’s footwear department, and placed a pair of Nike React sneakers in his duffle bag before leaving the store.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help to quickly identify this suspect. He is described as a 5’11” to 6’1” tall African American with a dark complexion and medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, blue hooded sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, gray sneakers, and a black Nike ski mask, and was carrying a blue duffle bag.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
