Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a business robbery that occurred on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the suspect, a customer at a laundromat in the 100 block of Avon Avenue, complained to workers that his clothing was stolen from one of the dryers. The customer demanded compensation for his stolen clothes. After he was refused compensation, the suspect went behind the shop’s counter and took the cash register, containing $400.00, out of its station. The suspect then fled the scene in a light-colored Jeep Cherokee.
Detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public’s help to quickly identify this suspect. He is described as a Black male, 5’4” tall and approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a black sweater, black pants, and white and green sneakers.
