Police Seek Help Identifying Business Burglary Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with a business burglary that occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
At approximately 3:55 a.m., a male suspect approached the sidewalk cellar door of Pool Bar, located in the 100 block of Elm Street. The suspect pried open the cellar door with his hands and entered the basement. The suspect then went to a back room, opened a lock box, and removed $300.00 to $400.00 from the lock box before fleeing the scene and heading westbound on Elm Street.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help quickly identifying this suspect. He is described as Hispanic and wearing a blue jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black hat, black pants, and white sneakers.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
