On March 1, 2024, the Middleton Police Investigative Services Bureau began receiving anonymous tips about possible drug activity in the 7700 block of Elmwood Avenue.
Detectives identified a suspect as Deamonte T. Lucas and learned he was on probation through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. With the help of patrol officers, detectives were able to gather enough evidence to arrest Lucas.
On March 20, 2024, detectives located Lucas driving in the 7300 block of Century Avenue. Officers and detectives initiated a traffic stop and took him into custody without incident. During a search of the vehicle, detectives located the following suspected substances:
- 2 pounds of marijuana
- 255 grams of fentanyl
- 68 grams of cocaine base
- 90 grams of oxycodone
Deamonte Lucas was booked into Dane County Jail on charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Cocaine, Marijuana and Oxycodone. He is also being held on a probation violation.
