TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Expected Heavy Rain May Produce Flooding
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reports that due to anticipated heavy rainfall, many streets may be flooded and should be avoided by drivers.
Rain is expected to begin on Saturday from approximately 6 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m., producing 1” to 3” accumulations. Rain may continue into Saturday night.
The following locations should be avoided by drivers due to the potential for flooding:

The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding conditions, and other weather-related incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire, and Office of Emergency Management Personnel. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials.
